Feb. 28th, 2018 11:33 pmSecretary Ben Carson reportedly dropped $31,000 worth of federal funds to swap an old table in his Department of Housing and Urban Development suite with posh dining room furniture.
The custom wood table, chairs and hutch were ordered for $31,561 in 2017, The New York Times reported Tuesday, when the housing agency proposed stripping more than $6 billion from its affordable housing budget.
The Guardian... reported that another $165,000 was spent on “lounge furniture” from an Indiana company at the Washington headquarters.

Не могу сказать, что я не понимаю Бена Карсона, очень приятно иметь дело с хорошими вещами. Лично я ничего дорогого не покупала, чтобы не жалеть, что ребёнок разобьёт или поломает, кошка подерёт, собака пожуёт, гость прольёт кофе, вино, соус... Не хочу я злиться на детей, кошек, собак и гостей, они мне важнее мебели и посуды. Но ведь Карсон не свои же деньги тратил, поэтому чего ему жалеть?

Не могу сказать, что я не понимаю Бена Карсона, очень приятно иметь дело с хорошими вещами.
